Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement say they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Officers then discovered multiple other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say early analysis show the substance was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for details.
A senior political figure said the attack left him without words and required to be solved quickly.
"This incident affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the killing of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
