Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025 Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded recently, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claimed the title of the biggest winner. This standout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive earned the esteemed Top Game award, along with prizes for Best Storytelling and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, the talented actors also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English won Outstanding Lead Performance for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Performer for his role as Verso. Moreover, Sandfall Interactive the studio received Top Studio. In total, Clair Obscur and its developers achieved seven awards throughout the event.
Additional standout winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Best Audio Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Outstanding Independent Game and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only 4 awards—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers’ Choice—decided by experts.
